Just because a home is new doesn't mean that you should skip out on a professional inspection. You should still have the home inspected by an independent home inspector. Just like with a home that has been lived in, a home inspector will check and make sure that everything is up-to-code in the home.
Even a good builder may make small mistakes, and a home inspection is a great way to check the quality of the home and to work with the builder to fix any issues that may arise during a home inspection. It is always smart to protect yourself with a professional home inspection.
#3 Be Willing to Negotiate Terms
Finally, keep in mind you can still negotiate terms when purchasing a new home. Do not be afraid to ask for things as you work on the selling price. For examples, if there is a part of the home that you don't like and the home is still under construction, this is where you can ask for upgrades. For example, you can ask for the builder to cover the closing costs. Do not be afraid to ask for things just because the home is new.
When purchasing a new home, look into the builder and find out about their reputation. Be sure to have the home professionally inspected to make sure that everything is okay. Finally, remember that is okay to ask for things and negotiate the terms of the sale.
